FROST

Sometimes

we need

to stall. Stop,

curl deeper,

sweep away stimulation,

the world’s doings.

Frost, our shared blanket

until morning melts

our malaise.

A slim pocket

of sun appears

like a bright fly

on a fish hook.

We lurch for it,

gasping.
